Extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma

• small lymphoid cells

• centrocytes

• plasma cells

• monocytoid B cells

• interspersed large lymphoid cells

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

• large lymphoid cells

• centroblasts

• immunoblasts

• Burkitt-like cells

Cytologic preparations are highly cellular and composed of lymphoid cells (Fig. 10.28). Lymphoepithelial lesions, characteristic of marginal zone lymphomas, are difficult to identify in cytologic preparations.
